  • Take A Case

Take a case and make a direct impact. By volunteering with The Pro Bono Project, you can represent a client who would otherwise have no access to legal help—while gaining meaningful experience, expanding your skills, and connecting with a network of dedicated attorneys. We provide the training, resources, and support you need, so you can step in with confidence and make a real difference.

Every client referred for placement has been carefully screened by our staff for financial eligibility and legal merit. We work to match volunteers with appropriate cases, ensuring that you have clear expectations and the information needed to move forward efficiently, with ongoing support available along the way.

  • Legal Clinics and Workshops

Volunteer at a legal clinic or workshop and make an immediate impact in your community. These events provide an opportunity to offer guidance to individuals who may not otherwise have access to legal resources - all in a supportive, structured setting. Whether assisting with forms, answering general questions, or notarizing documents, you’ll connect directly with those in need while gaining practical experience and building relationships with fellow volunteers.

Our staff organizes each clinic to ensure it runs smoothly and efficiently. Clients are pre-screened when appropriate, materials and resources are prepared in advance, and staff are on-site to provide guidance and support throughout the event.

  • Mentorship, Training, & CLEs

Share your expertise and strengthen the pro bono community by serving as a mentor, trainer, or CLE presenter. By guiding fellow volunteers, leading trainings, or presenting on substantive legal topics, you help expand the capacity of attorneys to take on pro bono matters with confidence. Your leadership not only supports individual volunteers but also ensures that more clients receive high-quality legal assistance.

Our staff works closely with you to make the experience seamless. We assist with topic development, provide sample materials and logistics support, and handle CLE accreditation and coordination. Whether you’re mentoring one-on-one or presenting to a group, we’ll ensure you have the tools and support needed to make a meaningful impact.

  • Self-Help Resource Center and Hotline

Volunteer at our Self-Help Resource Center or hotline and make a meaningful impact in just a three-hour shift. In this role, you’ll assist self-represented litigants by providing general atinformation about court processes, forms, and available resources - helping them better understand and navigate the legal system. It’s a flexible, low-commitment way to give back while engaging directly with the community.

Our staff prepares you for each shift and is available for support throughout. Volunteers are provided with guidance, materials, and clear parameters (including that no legal advice is given), so you can assist with confidence and make the most of your time.

  • Law Firm and Volunteer Outreach Committee

Serve on a board committee and help expand access to justice at a strategic level. Committee service offers a meaningful way to volunteer by shaping how The Pro Bono Project recruits, engages, and supports its network of volunteer attorneys, paralegals, and law students. Your leadership helps ensure we continue to grow our reach and connect more individuals with the legal help they need.

This committee plays a key role in developing and implementing initiatives to strengthen volunteer engagement, including outreach to law firms and legal departments. Through presentations, lunch-and-learn programs, and other educational opportunities, members help highlight pro bono needs, promote training, and encourage participation in our clinics and case placements - amplifying the impact of our work across the community.

  • Justice For All Ball Committee

Serve on the Justice For All Ball Committee and play a key role in advancing access to justice through our signature fundraising event. This is a hands-on opportunity to support The Pro Bono Project while engaging with leaders from the legal and business community.

Committee members help plan and execute every aspect of the event, including securing sponsorships, driving ticket sales, coordinating auction and raffle items, and supporting event programming and logistics. Through this work, you’ll help bring together board members, law firms, and community partners to ensure the event’s success.
