Established by the American Bar Association a decade ago, this is a week where pro bono programs across the country recognize their volunteers and highlight the growing demand for our services. All week long, The Pro Bono Project has coordinated several ways for us to recognize your contribution, highlight ways volunteers may get involved, and celebrate our accomplishments! Come spend some time with us and Celebrate Pro Bono!

  • Monday, 22nd: Come visit us at the Self Help Resource Center at the Orleans CDC from 9:00 am to noon. Check out the space and sign-up to volunteer for future dates!

  • Tuesday, 23rd: Come visit us at the Self Help Resource Center at the 24th JDC from 10:00 am to noon. Check out the space and sign-up to volunteer for future dates!

  • Wednesday, 24th: Join us at the Yenni Building where Parish President Michael Yenni will present us an official proclamation, naming this week as Pro Bono Week in Jefferson Parish. Volunteers interested in our Consumer Debt Clinics are welcome to attend our clinic this day at 3:00 pm at the Pentecostal Church, 1510 Harrison Avenue.

  • Thursday, 25th: If you have wanted to volunteer on a Child In Need of Care case, licensed attorneys are welcome to observe these confidential court proceedings at the Jefferson Parish Juvenile Court starting at 10:00 am. Later that afternoon, we are hosting a Spooky & Spicy Volunteer Party! Join us for a special Halloween Happy Hour at our new office space from 4:00 to 5:30 pm. Come have a Bloody Mary and chat with us about volunteering!

  • Friday, 26th: Start your morning with us with Coffee & Muffins! Beginning at 8:30 am, our offices are open to all volunteers all day. Need an Ethics hour*? From 10:00 to 11:00 am, we will present “The Pro Bono Project Wants YOU to Do Pro Bono Work!” Learn about the evolution of pro bono service, professional conduct, and ethics in Louisiana. Please send Kathleen an email if you want to attend the Ethics CLE.
