Meet The Krewe: 2015 JFAB

The kick-off meeting of the 2015 Justice For All Ball Committee was held on April 7, 2015 at Ruth's Chris Steakhouse in Harrah's Hotel. In addition to JFAB Committee Chair Steven Lane of Herman, Herman & Katz LLC, the members of the committee and Executive Director Rachel Piercey and staff member Meredith Lapre welcome this year's Honorary Ball  Chair Mrs. Gayle Benson. This year's Ball is scheduled for September 18 from 8:00 pm to midnight, with a Patron Party preceding the main event.

Over a delightful lunch, the committee began the process of pulling all the details of this year's Ball together. Who will serve on what committees? Where will this year's Ball be held? What bands will be playing? What kind of raffle and auction prizes are we looking for this year? What restaurants are on the roster and what kind of foods are they bringing?  All these small details and so many more were discussed during this initial foray into Ball planning. If you missed it in our March newsletter, artist Michael Guidry is creating the art for our invitation, which will be a featured auction item the night of the Ball. We're keeping the rest of the details from the lively conversation a surprise for an upcoming newsletter.

Steve has been diligently working since January to handle some of the bigger details such as extending the invitation to Mrs. Benson to be our Honorary Ball Chair, to which she happily accepted. He's already started the process of inviting area restaurants to participate and local businesses to come on board as sponsors.

Although this is only Steve's second year on the Board, he's rarin' to go and tell the story of The Pro Bono Project and our mission to anyone who will listen. How lucky are we to have such a dynamo at the helm of this year's Ball?

Our thanks to Steve, HH&K's Office Administrator Paulette Zibilich and the team at HH&K for organizing this exciting lunch meeting to get the ball rolling on the 2015 JFAB.
