Every Thursday during the month of January, volunteers from Curry & Friend, PLC assist our clients with their PCBM, a Provisional Custody by Mandate.
This one-page document is a way for a child's parents (or other legally qualified person) to name another person to give "care, custody and control" of a minor child.
Here's how it works: both parties arrive at our office and meet with our volunteer. After a brief discussion, the volunteer notarizes the paperwork and the client receives their originals. The form authorizes this other guardian to make decisions about the child's education, health matters and more.
