Despite the summer heat, The Pro Bono Project has been keeping busy and our supporters have been out in force supporting our organization and its mission to provide free civil legal aid to under-served members of our community.
On June 6, 2019, the New Orleans Bar Foundation and the Young Lawyers Section hosted the annual Pro-Bowl-O Benefit to raise funds for The Project. Fulton Alley provided the backdrop for this friendly competition among the participating firms. Thank you to the teams and sponsors who participated in this incredible event and to the New Orleans Bar Association for its continued support.
On June 18, 2019, the Hon. Jay Zainey welcomed members over forty members of the legal community to a luncheon hosted by The Pro Bono Project at U.S. District Court. Christopher Ralston, Chair of The Pro Bono Project, the Hon. Roland Belsome, Board Member, Ray Waid, Board Member, Henry King, Founding Partner at King & Jurgens, C.C. Kahr, Executive Director, Kathleen Legendre, Managing Attorney for Volunteer Engagement, and the Hon. Bernadette D’Souza, Orleans Civil District Court, highlighted the practical benefits of pro bono as well as the many diverse ways to volunteer.
A special note of appreciation to Phelps Dunbar for sponsoring this luncheon.
